
The API (Real Estate Agents), has presented in Catalonia with Deloitte España, the different figures of the Spanish Proptech market. In these, the different structural changes that the real estate industry have had as well as this profession have been analyzed. Changes generated mainly by the technological revolution that Spain currently lives. This is both for real estate and for the country’s macroeconomic market.
Following this, both companies have presented a study on this where you can see that the Proptech sector has grown exponentially in recent years, Proptech refers to the term “Property Technology”. This term refers directly to any company that uses technology to improve or reinvent its services within the real estate sector. This with the main purpose of improving their services, activities, offers, and much more.
Spain is the second country in the world with the greatest annual investment in Proptech
The Proptech had a great boom at the beginning of 2018 where it is expected to continue growing at the same rate in this year 2022. Within the Spanish ecosystem, it has been acquired strength due to the growing digitalization of the sector and the constant demands of the consumer. In this sense, Spain has thus become the second country that invests the most in Proptech worldwide reaching an investment of more than 820 million euros in the 2020-2021 course.
The Spanish industry also concentrated the second largest investment collection figure in this regard above countries such as the United Kingdom with 769 million euros, India with 742 million euros and Brazil with 444 million euros. Remaining second after the United States that has made an investment of more than 5880 million euros. Thus leading the ranking with a huge volume above the rest of the countries.
There are currently more than 4100 Proptech companies throughout Europe, being the United Kingdom that concentrates more companies with some 709 registered companies. This is followed by Germany with about 609 companies and then Spain is with about 536 companies of this type. In Central Europe and this, this highlights the startups focused on the office sector. On the other hand, South Europe has focused more on the residential sector and technologies that can be applied to improve the performance of this same sector. This has followed some trends where these companies are expected to continue growing and the use of new technologies by these. This with the main purpose of achieving better optimization at work, but also in the energy use of its resources.
